Dandelion Seeds a bloom

Yesterday I stepped out of my dark editing den right as a break in the clouds opened up. I grabbed my camera and ran onto the street. The 10 minutes in the afternoon where the sun gets to break through the clouds, illuminating the world with an intense shaft of gold light, made stronger by blue/black clouds all around, is one of my favorite times of day. Its hard to plan for, you don’t know for sure if it will come, until it is upon you, and you are basking in pirate color air. Here Dandelion heads are catching the days last rays in the median between the sidewalk and street a block away from my editing den.

The Jacket Video

The Jacket from Freya Fennwood on Vimeo.
I am excited to present my first dive into motion photography! It was a great learning experience and fun to work with the talented acrobatic juggling group NANDA, while they produced their first feature length show. They are amazing, and I hope this video gives you an idea of what its like to experience their show. For more info on Nanda and more video visit www.thejacketshow.com
All video was shot with a Panasonic GH1 on very high ISO’s its amazing what this camera can do in low light! Edited in Adobe Premiere CS4.
I hope you enjoy

Giant Puffball

The Giant puffball is one of the most astounding mushrooms I’ve ever seen. Growing to over a foot wide these white orbs look like lost soccer balls or dragon eggs. On a walk a few days ago a friend found a confusing object in a grassy field. She came to me saying, “I think you should take a look at this thing I found. Its either a dinosaur egg or a giant mushroom.” They turned out to be Giant mushrooms, and beautiful specimens at that. Here Anna Stern who made the discovery posses with an enormous puffball in an impromptu mushroom inspired photo shoot.

Falls wealth, white chanterelle mushroom picking

Here is the elusive, white chanterelle, less common then its golden sister, but firmer and often larger.
