Northwest Cup Downhill bike Race #1 2012
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of cheering on one of my good friends Lily Hickenbottom as she participated in her first Downhill bike race. I drove to PA on Saturday to watch the practice runs on dry hill. There were a lot of amazing riders and a lot of great women! According to the Peninsula Daily News 50 women participated in the race, a big jump over the usual 20. It was inspiring to see so many women riding just as hard as the boys! I raced mtn bikes in high school and I was the only girl around who road, so it is great to see woman’s participation rise!
Kayaking on calm waters
This shot is from my archives. But as I sit here working on my computer the rain pouring off the roof in rivers, I need to have hope that this drizzle will stop and beautiful spring will return. I had the misfortune of breaking my patella about a month ago. Hopefully in a week or so I will be able to kayak again and get out and start my spring shooting! For the past month it has been computer screens, so this is a teaser to myself and you of what is to come!
